Deep Clean - 250ml

Deep Clean was the original Car-Skin product – originally named ‘Paint Preparation Stage 1’ it stood out among the competitors for having the remedial powers of a medium cutting compound, but without the downside of a paint-thinning cutter. Unsurprisingly, it uses a chemical system that is unique and well guarded, as does the former ‘Paint Preparation Stage 2’ or CS12 as it is now known. They must be used in tandem in order to restore and protect paint – without Deep Clean the CS12 sealant will not last the full 12 months, and without CS12 the restorative powers of Deep Clean will be equally as short-lived.

Using a chemical process, as opposed to physical abrasion, Deep Clean performs three key tasks. Firstly, it removes the surface layer of oxidised paint, secondly it removes any ingrained marks such as bird lime, that previously would have required serious remedial work. Finally it shapes the surface of the paint, the micro-architecture, so that it is compatible with CS12. Think of it as two pieces of a jigsaw, the Deep Clean creates one piece while the CS12 molecules are shaped like the other. When linked together they form a shield so strong it will resist everything from bird lime etching to detergent shampoos. It will also create a very smooth surface, stopping dirt sticking to the surface, thus making it very easy to clean time and time again.

Deep Clean is available in 100ml and 250ml, while a marine alternative for GRP hulls is available in larger volumes. To use Deep Clean simply apply generously to a microfibre and work into the paint using circular motions and a medium pressure, ensuring all areas have been covered. On ingrained marks a little more effort may be required. Deep Clean can be applied by a machine with a soft pad if preferred. Make sure all the edges have been treated, opening the doors, boot, and bonnet as required. Treat the car panel by panel for best results, overlapping the areas as you go. Remove all the product and then apply CS12 – because Deep Clean opens all the pores of the paint. It is really important to seal the paint afterwards.
