Deep Cut Extreme - 250ml
Deep Cut Extreme, is as the name suggests our most aggressive cutting compound. It will remove all paint-deep scratches and return dull, faded, scratched paint to its former glory as part of the Paint Surgeon process. As with all our abrasive products, the key is in the chemistry and more specifically in the size and shape of the cutting molecules. In DCE, the cutting molecules are an extruded diamond shape, all the same size and shape to create an even finish. Not only is Deep Cut Extreme a homologated product, it is also lubricated, allowing really easy application by machine and stopping any clotting during use. It will also cope with the added heat created by the friction without denaturing or loosing lubrication.
Forming the first step in the Paint Surgeon restoration process, if Deep Cut Extreme cannot repair your paint, the only option will be a re-spray. Deep Cut Extreme should not be used on its own, it will actually dull the paintwork until Deep Cut is used to bring back the gloss. Equally, the paint will need to be re-sealed after Deep Cut, ideally using Deep Clean and CS12. This four step process can turn a scrap-heap ready paint job into a show-ready finish. For the deepest of gloss, use CS Pro as a final finish and a PTFE coating to protect your paint indefinitely with quarterly applications.

Using Deep Cut Extreme does require some expertise and a buffing machine, this is a professional product and among the strongest compounds publically available. That said, if you follow the instructions, practice, and err on the side of caution, you can’t go far wrong. The first step is to clean the vehicle to remove any surface dirt, and then dry it fully. Apply the product, having shaken it vigorously for a minute, with a micro fibre directly to the paint, picking a panel or part of a panel at a time. Ensure the product covers the entire area evenly and then go over the area with a buffing machine. DCE can be used with a variety of pads or mops, but always start with a light pressure, keeping the buffer moving all the time, particularly if using a rotary machine as opposed to an orbital machine.
Once the selected area has had equal treatment, remove the product with a micro fibre and inspect to the finish. If there are still paint-deep scratches re-apply the product and use a little extra pressure, regularly removing the product and checking progress. It is always better to do two passes than risk going through the paint on a single over-enthusiastic pass. You will notice the paint will dull, this is entirely normal and the gloss will be restored with Deep Cut, a less abrasive compound. Once the paint is consistent and the scratches have been removed, select an adjacent panel and work around the car, overlapping slightly between panels. The video link below the product image shows the whole process. Once the car is complete, continue the Paint Surgeon process with Deep Cut, remembering to remove all the Deep Cut Extreme first.
