Foaming Shampoo - 500ml
The range of shampoos on the market is ever-growing, and from a technical point of view, the chemistry is not particularly advanced. Essentially you use a mild detergent. Cheap shampoo uses lower quality detergents and dilutes them so much they don’t add much over water. Expensive shampoos are more concentrated, use multiple detergents, and often have additives such as water softener.
For our foaming shampoo, we used a selection of highly concentrated detergents, added a water softener and one or two other solutions to stop the white lime marks forming as the water evaporates. We also added a gloss agent so that just washing the car brings it up nicely. We also designed it not to affect the Paint Surgeon polishes and sealant so it can be used repeatedly without removing the protective polymer layer of CS12 or the PTFE layer in CS Pro. Originally we had just the foamless shampoo, after all, the bubbles are purely decorative, in the same way snow foam is more for the benefit of the spectator, than the car. However, our customers wanted bubbles so we had to tweak the formula and add suds to make bubbles.

Car-Skin shampoos are compatible with pressure hoses, including the auto-mixing system available on some of the more expensive models. Though quite thick and concentrated, the shampoo should not clog the system on a good pressure hose. We actually recommend adding the shampoo to warm water in a bucket and using a chenille wash mitt to wash the car. The benefit of chenille is that it won’t hold the dirt, especially when used with a good shampoo, thus you won’t scratch your car. Remember to rinse the mitt regularly in a second bucket of plain water to remove any crud that does stick. Concentration wise we recommend 1:250 as a happy medium. It will remain effective if more diluted, but at 1:250 it will remove everything very easily and quickly.
Once the car has been washed, spray it down with clean water and dry it before waxing. If you wax regularly and want to give the car a quick spruce up we would recommend Rapid Wax, a Carnauba emulsion that works on damp cars. If you don’t have the time to wash and wax regularly it would be worth using CS Pro. It takes longer to apply and requires a dry car, but it will last months and make the car easier to clean in the future.
