Quick Wash - 500ml

Water-less washing products are starting to appear on the market in earnest, but ours was one of the first and remains better than anything else we have tested so far. The key to Quick Wash, as with all of our products, is in the chemistry. The brief was laughably optimistic - create a spray-on product that protects paint from scratching, actively removes dirt, and adds a gloss, even to paint that hasn't been polished recently.

We set to work on the anti-scratch system first, settling on what chemists call a sheeting agent. This works with special molecules that are extremely small. When sprayed onto a dirty car they go through the mud and grime and sit on the surface of the paint. Here they react and bond with each other to create a temporary barrier between the mud and the paint.

The next step was the easiest, the cleaning stage. We had previously created an extremely effective custom detergent that was used in our foamless shampoo, so with a little tweaking to ensure it didn't react with the sheeting agent, we had stages one and two in the bag. Next was the requirement to add gloss. It was a very specific brief, it was not simply cleaning the paint, it had to add more gloss than was previously under the dirt. The solution was a very thin, non-abrasive liquid wax. It would last less than a week on a car used daily, but required minimal buffing, went off quickly, and added a really convincing gloss.

Quick Wash is available in 100ml and 500ml. To use it, simply spray directly onto dirty paint work in excess. Then wait two to three minutes for the sheeting agent to work its magic. Then take a clean microfibre cloth and wipe away the dirt, being gentle and using very little pressure. You will find everything apart from tar will come off into the micro fibre. Repeat this step if required. Then spray a very light mist onto the clean paint work and either turn the microfibre over or use a new one to buff into a medium gloss.
